Obituary:

Michael Foster Keeling passed away on August 18, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born at Eglin AFB on December 30, 1960, to James and Barbara Keeling. Mike grew up in Dallas, TX and attended W.T. White High School where he was an exceptional athlete playing football, basketball and baseball. In 1979 he was recruited by Barry Switzer to play football at the University of Oklahoma where he started as their kicker and punter. He was very proud of his two Orange Bowl rings and he was instrumental in the 1981 OU win over Florida State, setting an Orange Bowl record with a 53 yard field goal.

After graduating with a degree in accounting, Mike earned his CPA and went to San Antonio to work for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. Here he met Irene, his wife of 33 years. They eventually moved to Dallas where they both continued their careers in accounting. Mike transitioned into real estate and was a top agent for RE/MAX DFW Associates for over 30 years. Irene later joined him at RE/MAX, and they worked together as a real estate team in Flower Mound.

While Mike was a talented athlete and successful in business, he really excelled as a father and husband. He was dedicated to his daughter Tiffany and son Ryan, attending and coaching their many sport activities. Tiffany's recent marriage to "Big Mike" enriched his life greatly, and he embraced his new son-in-law as a friend. Mike was an avid golfer and enjoyed his many golf outings with his close buddies. He had an uncanny ability for finding lost golf balls and his friends claim he never had to purchase any. The tremendous outpouring of love and affection for Mike shows that he was a friend to all and had a positive impact on everyone he knew.

Mike is preceded in death by his son Ryan and father James Keeling. He is survived by his wife Irene Keeling, his daughter Tiffany and her husband Mike Repass, and his mother Barbara Keeling. He's also survived by siblings Kathy May and her husband Sean, Jim Keeling and his wife Debbie, and nephews and nieces Jason, Shawn, Logan, Christopher, Erin, Patrick, Tamara, Tara and Travis.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Nicholas church on Saturday, August 28th at 10 am. Reception to follow.
